those words that inspire

  • me: will you be my valentine

  • me:

  • me: its okay take your time

It's so optimistic, it's really difficult not to like it. ;D

I'm inspired now. I shall continue to create my own lovely conversations with the following people:
Nick Groff (top of my list!)
Damon Salvatore
Josh Duhamel
Ed Westwick
Ken Duken

A puppy to be my buddy and listener and most of all, playmate! Lemme have my very own house next time and I'll definitely have one. I've been eyeing on a Golden Retriever. They look so gorgeous! But, we'll see. ;D

Braids! <3

I love braids! They are simple, yet I feel it being elegant, graceful, angelic. When I see braids, I think of ballerinas. When I see braids, I think of little girls that have their hair tied by their lovely mommas. When I see braids, I think of beautiful hair. When I see braids, I think of A Walk To Remember.

I can tie braids. But I can't tie the kind that falls closely to the head. I tried, and I have no idea how it looks from behind. I'll just have someone kind enough to do it for me next time. Or maybe on my wedding day! Or a best friend's wedding day and I'll be her bridesmaid! With braids. ;D

Art is graceful. Paint is fulfilling. Without paint, there are no colours. Colours tell variety. Colours signify the presence of something, whether solid or abstract. So I like colours. They give hope. They give a sense of realism. They give life! Yes, that's what it is.;D

Valentine's Day falls next Tuesday! ;D I want chocolates! There should be chocolates for myself on that day. Or I shall ask momma to buy me a box of chocolates. Or a piece of chocolate cake? Ooh, I love cakes!

Let the love run free!

the flipside of horizon

I think I enjoy being underwater. That is, crystal clear water like those in the Maldives or Sipadan or Perhentian. One day, I was refilling water from the I-don't-know-what's-that-called and the sound the water made gave me this notion. Some people fear the deep blue ocean. Perhaps it's the idea that Hollywood movies like Jaws which gives people the idea of the danger beneath these waters. But not for me. It's a completely different world when being in these waters. Maybe I'd feel like a fish! Like Dory! ;D

A month back, I had the sudden urge to learn diving. Not the kind of diving from planks high above, but scuba diving. Diving with all the gears attached to your body, diving while using an oxygen tank, diving alongside nature's marine life, diving like it's the first time seeing the world. Someday, maybe not now, but someday I'll take up diving lessons. And then someday after that someday, I'll dive in the real ocean, or sea. I'll make that a promise to myself now. ;D

Whitney Houston has left us. It came quite a shock to me when I turned on my laptop this very morning. First it was the great Michael Jackson, and now another legendary Whitney Houston.
Rest In Peace.

"You lift my feet off the ground, spin me around, you make me crazier, crazier."

To be honest with myself, it's a freedom that you can never want to replace with anything else. At least not for me. I could say I'm over the past and I've moved not a step, but many steps forward already. I hope you have as well, but I'm sure you have long done that before me. This freedom, rids all fears that you ever had.

the place some call home

When you think boredom is knocking on your door soon, pack your bag, grab your car keys and head out from your cooped up place immediately. That was what we needed to kick away those dullness and spiritless days. So a day trip to a near yet worth exploring place would do the thing.

Last Monday, momma, bro and I had our own exploration day. A close to 45-minute drive brought us to Port Klang. There, we board an air-conditioned longboat to a pretty secluded island. It turned out that the short journey was not that short either. All you see along the way were trees, which I suppose are mangrove plants, from the way their roots look, and sea water. Earlier on, Momma told me that there were reports of dolphins in the waters of Port Klang.  As hard as I tried to focus on the sparkling waters, I couldn't see any sudden splashes or humpbacks to indicate the presence of the mammals.

The walkway towards the boat.

Practically, we were at the jetty.

We arrived on the island before noon. It was clearly a fisherman's village. Oh by the way, I haven't revealed the place name yet, have I? It was Pulau Ketam that we went to. From our first observation, we more or less figured out the reason for the island's name. The shoreline was all mud, at least it looked so from the angle we had above. Nobody walks down there except fishing boats which were docked on it. Thanks to the bright sunshine, we could see for ourselves the numerous and uncountable amount of baby crabs hiding among the muddy ground. You might not notice it in a flash, but as you look more closely, you'll notice there are quite a number of tiny humps all over the mud and a movement or two will catch your attention right at the corner of your eye. And those, my friend, are the crabs. They are not that baby actually, but not so big as to be able to eat them though.

Tha! Those tiny protrusions from the mud are the backs of crabs. The first time I actually see a crab walk, sideways. ;D

We toured the tiny village. As you move further in, you'll notice that all houses and buildings are built on stilts. Some houses have surely been renovated and more so, beautified, but underneath them are most probably wooden stilts and more muddy grounds. But it's quite a sad thing to see that the hygiene in this village was less appealing. Even though the houses above may seem pretty amusing for a village like that, but beneath the appearance, there were actually lots of rubbish strewn all over. So, if you're planning to come over, just don't have too high an expectation from it. Like bro said, there's nothing much to be seen here. Well, it may be true for those who, prefer urban life or less interest in nature. I think it was quite an experience for me. I kind of like the way their houses are. Man, they were spacious! And those tiny doors they have, how cute they were!

The main transportation here?

Bicycle. ;)
But even with bicycle, it would be a hard time trying to manoeuvre through those narrow and crowded lanes.

Lodgings were provided here as well.

See what I mean?

Momma spotted this atop a temple. How significant! HAHA

The population there were majority Chinese. Most restaurants were Chinese operated as well. We only spotted one Malay eatery. Lots of stalls selling local products as well. But be cautious though, some really hike the price so much more than in KL.

It was noon time when we finally decided to call it an end to our tour. So what could be a better way to experience a true fishing village than to savour the authentic seafood here? Yes, I know right.

This particular restaurant, a very noticeable one since it's the first building you'll see as soon as you step onto the jetty on this island. It was featured in VKeong as well. But no, this was not the one that we tried.

This restaurant, whose name I did not even know for sure, (oopsie) was halfway in. It was right opposite the Malay eatery I mentioned earlier. Sandwiched between a restaurant and a coffee shop.

Three of us, three dishes. And one more Fried Omelette from a stall, also mentioned in VKeong.

Deep fried fish with gravy poured on top. This dish was my favourite of all. I especially like how the gravy tasted. It wasn't that spicy as it looked. Just the right taste and texture to suit the dryness.

CLAMS! Ooh, I love clams as well. Can you see how huge the difference is between the clams here and those in KL? Or perhaps, those clams that I eat in KL. Oh yes, just look at the sizes! They appear like giants next to KL clams. ;P
But they tasted a tad bit too salty. Momma said maybe it was because of its freshness, and hence making it more salty. A natural saltiness, I guess? But the flesh was awesome! Bro had the most of it. HAHA

Lastly, the fried omelette. 'Oh chien' ;) Ever since I first tasted Oh Chien in Penang, I've been in love with it already. It was from a stall, also recommended in VKeong. No doubt, the omelettes were more than usual but the same goes to the flour accompanying it. In fact, the flour was quite thick and starchy. So for one person's portion, just as this was, was definitely more than enough. If you want to try it, just be prepared for its price. Quite above the average price, I suppose.

Sapu everything! ;D

After lunch, it was almost time for us to leave. Momma thought of buying some local products back since we came so far already. Same as well, the prices are higher than those in KL, according to grandma, as she knows best. But still, bought a small packet of salted fish. ;)

Oh, and talking about hygiene?
Only in Pulau Ketam: Shoes and water stored together in a fridge.

And after a whole morning and afternoon spent on this little island, time has come for us to return back to mainland.

Farewell to this adorable doggy as well. He's been tailing us all the while when we were walking to the end of the village. How cute he was! But some people were so mean. =(
It's fine if you dislike him being near you but you don't have to scare it or shoo it away so fiercely you know. =(

He's like a Hush Puppy. Well, one thing about me is, I always associate a dog with long body and short legs with the Hush Puppy. Aren't they called Hush Puppies? ;D

Cutest thing ever!

I sat next to the window on our journey back to Port Klang. Looking out the window and seeing the waters sparkle with every shower of sunlight. Then it occurred to me about the aquatic life beneath the sparkling sea. Isn't it such a pity and a shame? Those creatures down there have to suffer and live in such a dirty place they call home. All because of what we did to the nature. Maybe it might not be all our fault, but still, we could have contributed to it some way or the other. And that makes the guilt build up even more.

I'm so sorry. I know, I wouldn't want to live in such a place either. =/

Let's hope it'll all change someday in the near future. ;)

a dragon call

Chinese New Year came and gone. My angpaos, never enough. ;)

Frankly speaking, I have to admit that I spent so much more than previous years on CNY clothes this year. Perhaps it's the sudden notion and daring attempt to have a complete makeover of myself. And, I bought two skirts for myself. Oops, surprise, surprise!

In total, I guess I had spent more than 300 bucks just on apparels this time. Well, I do feel bad once in awhile. I'll just have to scrimp from no onwards and use the least money that I could. No joke man.

Anyway, I was so fully pumped up on the first day of Chinese New Year. I was so decided to go house visiting to all my relatives. Uncles, aunts, cousins and all. Yet, it did not turn out quite that way I was hoping it would. My favourite cousin bro went back to his mum's hometown. My cousin sister, who I thought was coming over, will not be back in KL until late that night. Just too bad.

Excitement on the first day. It is always so. ;D Here with bro. ;)

My work started on the third day of Chinese New Year. Oh well, what can I say?

Better late than never. So for all you folks out there,

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! ;D

what happened that night

One of my earliest and biggest obsession in the musical world was in KL last month.

Yup, none other than Simple Plan itself. I don't know if it's just me or this year seems to be filled with concerts lining up one after another. You see, just a few days before SP's concert was Foster The People's. Such a shame and regrettable thing that I had missed out on it!
Simple Plan, Foster The People and Avril Lavigne which is the only left now which I really really want to go so badly. Oh, and not to mention Dashboard Confessional too!

See? I guess it's not just me who's feeling the heat of it all.

I never expected myself to have gotten the golden opportunity to attend this friggin rock band's performance. On that day itself, I whined and put on my pitiful face to momma but did not really expect anything from her. Especially not an immediate consent for me towards this concert. But she gave it, so quickly, so instantly, so unhesitatingly. How'd you think I'd feel under such a circumstance? Completely stunned. Yes, I was.

Then it turned into a brief moment of joy, because after all, that was what my hearts craves for. Like I said, only a brief period of happiness. It got to guilt later on. Mind you, a ticket to a concert isn't cheap you know? For this one, the cheapest ticket costs almost a 100 bucks. Momma gave me the green light and even asked me to bring along bro so:
1. I could return home later and not get scolded
2. I would have someone to accompany me
3. It would definitely be an awesome (or maybe not), yet eye-opening experience for bro

So tell me, how is it that I would not feel bad with momma's great kindness? I definitely did. That led me to question myself so much as to whether I should really go for it. Oh shucks, it's always those mixed feelings and doubts that bring the guilt on. ALWAYS.

Now I know better. Either I do it, or I don't even attempt it at all.
I'd rather miss the concert than feel guilty for my seemingly selfish wants from momma.

But still, I'm really thankful momma allowed me to go. ;)

So remorse aside, time for some awesomeness in the house!

Apparently, a local band was to perform prior to the REAL rock band. They sang a couple of songs, none that I know of anyway. ;P

Quite a slight let down in the first place because it was only right after the local band's performance that the crew started setting up the stage for Simple Plan. You know, SP's drums and guitars and all. So it was almost an hour later, about 9.30pm that SP came on stage. Another half hour longer than when Westlife took.

They brought the house down, literally. ;D

I dislike going to a concert and not knowing the songs they sing. =( I'll definitely do my homework first before I go to another of my favourite artiste's concert. IF I ever to to one someday soon. ;)

But at least I can sing along to some new songs that I adore, so much.
Among them, Jet Lag and Summer Paradise. I'm so much in love with Summer Paradise. I should prolly make it my ringtone now. ;D

And, there you go! End of concert. Spot it, Janine (Amelia's best buddy) was right behind me. ;P

Best part of the concert? The encore. ;)

You may go to a concert empty-handed, but one thing I've learnt from Westlife's concert, is to NOT come back without anything.

At least get a t-shirt for yourself. ;D

Can't wait till the day I have it on my body! ;D

THANK YOU SIMPLE PLAN!

THANK YOU MOMMA!

I LOVE YOU BOTH!

you confuse me!

Boys. You confuse me. They say girls are the more complex and deep of both species. But truth is, I find you more confusing. You are so difficult to fathom sometimes. You are unpredictable to me. You give off signals and have us go on the wildest imaginations possible. You tease us, make fun of us, joke with and about us, put the limelight on us, and make us feel specially treated. You set our hopes up high as mountains, yet crash that bubble in no time. You make us hopeful, then you let us fall without even trying. One moment you are all warm and sweet. The next moment you are cold and distant. Now you are arguing about the pettiest thing ever. Then you are being a stranger. You make us go in circles searching for answers, knowing that only you are the one who holds the key to it. You asked to be the key, then you tossed it away. You asked for the hand, then you shoved it aside. You climbed the ladder of priority without much effort.
What is your point?

Boys. You frustrate me. You light the spark, then you dim the light. You say right, but you do it left. You bring me up, then you push me down. You assure me it is okay, then you put the guilt on me. You talk, then you are silent. You initiate, then you lay low. You approach, then you disappear. What do you want me to understand from your actions? What is the hidden message you want to be known? You hint at me, then you act all normal. You want me to know, yet you do not tell. You want me to guess, yet you deny every reply. You bring my heart and head to a junction. You put them in a conflict. You create the knot, yet you do not untangle them. You pose the question, but not the solution.
What is your point?

You are Lucas Scott, and now I am Brooke Davis.

Hoist the colours! I'd rather be reading my Harry Potter collection. ;D At least I can understand the story. This story you are opening way to, is so misleading and vexing.

You confuse me!
